What are Trips Events?

A Trip Events is a live location update delivered via webhook that is sent during the trip and at the entry and exit of origin and destination.

These trip events can be departure from the point of origin, the arrival at the point of destination, or even the arrival to and departure from any of the multi-stop destinations along a trip. These events can then be used as a trigger for other functionalities within your app. As far as Roam is concerned, trip events can be used to change a tracking mode, or even stop the tracking altogether. The four trip events we offer are Creating a trip, Starting a trip, Ending a trip, and getting a Summary of a trip. All four of these events can then be used as triggers as previously mentioned. We also offer the possibility to pause a trip, although that is not a default feature.
